Cutler-Hammer's facility in Fayetteville, NC were adding three new dock doors and proposing a canopy to cover the trailers to reduce the heat coming into the facility and for worker's comfort.  Mr. Gerry Osmanski, P.E./C.P.E., Manager of Advanced Manufacturing for Eaton/Cutler- Hammer, in Pittsburgh, PA and Mr. Bob Kennedy, Senior Manufacturing Engineer of the Fayetteville plant, were very familiar with the cooling aspects of periodically misting water to reduce temperatures.  In 1992 Sprinkool Systems Int'l., Inc. had installed a Sprinkool systems on the 255,000 square foot Fayetteville facility.  They found that Sprinkool Systems Int'l., Inc. also manufactured the TrucKool system, designed specifically to mist and cool trailers and trucks at an operation cost of less then 3 cents per hour per dock.  The temperatures inside the trailers are reduced up to 25º Fahrenheit, much cooler than is possible with shade covers.
The total system and installation for the three dock doors were substantially less than the proposed shed or canopy and installed by three men over a weekend.
